Singapore, 2 November 2023 – Southeast Asia is one of the most important logistics hubs in the world. Air cargo hubs, such as those in Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam, are central axes of the industry. The trend toward full and semi-automation of air cargo handling processes is accelerating at a rapid pace in order to handle the increasing tonnages in a more efficient, faster, and safe manner. The global leader for air cargo terminal automation and technology, Lödige Industries will present a range of solutions at the air cargo and transport logistic Southeast Asia in Singapore from November 1st to 3rd at booth C15.
With the latest automation technology and intelligent IT management systems, the performance of terminals can be significantly increased. Above all, time-consuming and labour-intensive manual work can be avoided to increase the throughput of terminals without requiring additional space. Lödige Industries has decades of experience in the planning, development, manufacturing, installation and maintenance of transport and storage systems for airport logistics – from mobile terminal equipment and conveyor systems to the realization of fully automated cargo hubs.
At the tradeshow, Lödige Industries will showcase its intelligent automated guided vehicles (AGVs). AGVs are a game changer for cargo terminals by making ULD transport both flexible and easily scalable. AGVs and more traditional forms of transport and storage within the terminal can be controlled quickly and easily via Lödige Industries updated Cargo Professional Suite.
Many of the world's most modern cargo terminals, such as Turkish Cargo's fully automated smartIST cargo terminal in Istanbul, were conceived and realised by Lödige Industries. Other major automation projects are currently being implemented at Amsterdam Schiphol and at New York's JFK Airport. In the APAC region, recent cargo projects feature an automated cold-chain pallet cargo system for AAT COOLPORT at Hong Kong International Airport, as well as extensive technical equipment installation for a new ULD handling facility at Brisbane Airport and China Eastern's cargo hub at Chengdu airport. Lödige Industries also provides solutions for in-flight catering logistics. For example, an automated catering storage and transport system was installed at Chengdu Airport to efficiently process around 40,000 meals daily.
"Asia, especially Southeast Asia, is an important growth market for us. The logistics region is developing very strongly and the demand for high-quality technology and equipment for cargo terminals is very high. Here in Singapore, we can deepen our relationships with many
companies, establish new ones and present our latest solutions and projects to the industry," says Nicholas Tripptree, Managing Director Asia Pacific at Lödige Industries.
Lödige Industries' technology annually handles around 28 million tons of air cargo annually worldwide. The company has been providing innovative solutions for the air cargo industry over 45 years and is represented in the APAC region with its own locations in Beijing, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Sydney.
