The City of Parramatta is rapidly transforming as it becomes Sydney's second Central Business District. This evolution brings the construction of The Lennox, a new $400 million mixed-use development at 12 Phillip Street Parramatta.
The Lennox comprises 441 residences across 40 levels, as well as a substantial retail precinct and nine levels of basement including a fully automated car parking system from Lödige Industries. The first two basement levels (B1 & B2) are designed for conventional parking. The third basement level (B3) will be a combination of conventional parking and five transfer cabins providing access to the automated car parking system comprising 374 positions below.
This system is the first of its kind in the southern hemisphere utilizing Lödige's unique palletless technology. The system acts like a valet, picking up cars from their drivers and transporting them to a designated parking space. Lödige's innovative approach simplifies the user experience, provides high reliability and creates a parking process that is both rapid and efficient. "It uses a special robotic shifter which is very low-profile, wireless; goes under the car and picks it up by the perfect place, its tyres. It is definitely the future of car parking in Australia." said Lödige Asia Managing Director Jeff Read.
Lödige's state of the art technology has already parked nearly half a million vehicles in a public car park located below Dokk1 in Aarhus (Denmark), a cultural complex containing Scandinavia's largest library, which has been operating since July 2015. The Lennox was recently featured on National 9 News in Australia, see the video presenting the project and the benefits of Lödige's fully automated car park system.
