Modern environment for technologies of the future
Warburg/Paderborn 9 February 2024 - Lödige Industries, the holding company of the Paderborn-based entrepreneurial family Wilhelm Lödige's group of companies specialising in materials handling technology worldwide, with headquarters in Paderborn and Warburg, is investing in the future at its Paderborn site.
The plan is to build a new, ultra-modern office complex at Balhorner Feld 1, consisting of a four-storey main building adjoining the existing Technology and Innovation Centre. Two additional, two-storey side wings facing south-west create further space for light-flooded, modern office landscapes.
The new building is to become a communication centre and meeting point for the Group's more than 1,300 employees worldwide. It is planned that around 250 employees will find a workplace in Paderborn in an area of 4,000 m². The Customer Care Centre, where the systems installed worldwide are monitored around the clock, will also be housed in the new building.
In a special edition in November 2023, the business magazine "Die Wirtschaftswoche" confirmed the Lödige Industries group of companies as a "hidden champion" and global market leader in the field of complex air freight systems at airports. Lödige Industries also supplies material flow solutions, from goods lifts and fully automated production logistics to automated car parking systems and the associated services.
This development began more than 75 years ago in Paderborn and, according to Dr Rudolf Lödige, Chairman of the Advisory Board and spokesman for the family, will continue with the new technologies developed at the Lödige Campus. "We are continuing the tradition of innovation by providing an international, attractive and modern working environment for the technical solutions of tomorrow," says Dr Rudolf Lödige.
The proximity to Paderborn's research institutions and tech companies also played a role in the choice of location. "The new Lödige Campus allows us to integrate the latest technologies from research and science into our product portfolio even faster and to test them directly in our almost 5,000 m² Technology and Innovation Centre," adds Philippe De Backer, Spokesman of the Management Board and Managing Director.
The Lödige Campus at Balhorner Feld 1 will be designed with open working areas for joint project work, as well as quiet areas for concentrated work. There will also be meeting rooms for employees of the company's own international organisation, partners and customers. Completion is scheduled for 2026.
Lödige Industries is relying on general contractor Althoff Industrie- und Verwaltungsbau GmbH from Meschede to realise the project. Althoff specialises in innovative office landscapes as well as individual, sustainable and sophisticated industrial and administrative buildings.
Althoff Managing Director Stephan Laarmann is looking forward to the joint project. "The development of this pioneering project is an excellent example of the sensible combination of new and existing buildings. A vibrant workplace is being created here that sets standards and will help to strengthen the company as an innovation leader and attractive employer in the market," said Laarmann at the signing of the contract.
